GHMC to Help Poor and Needy With Job Opportunities

Commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy said the corporation is planning to help poor and needy with job opportunities.

Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner & Special Officer, GHMC said that the GHMC is planning to give importance and encourage the poor and needy to help them with job opportunities. The Commissioner & Special Officer held a meeting with UCD, Non Governmental Organisations, MEPMA, AMOHs   and other Welfare Assocations in GHMC Office today.

While interacting with the representatives of various associations the Commissioner said that GHMC is trying to provide loans to the Self Help Groups through banks. The GHMC is also providing 44 lakhs dustbins to the citizens of the twin cities to collect the wet and dry garbage waste from the residents for which the GHMC is deploying auto tippers for the collection of garbage from house to house.

The GHMC is having around 20 lakhs house holds out of which the garbage waste from the house holds around 10 lakhs houses will be collected and remaining 10 lakhs house holds the garbage will be collected through tricycle rickshaw pullers. The GHMC is having around 2800 cycle rickshaw pullers who are presently collecting the garbage from house to house and the workers who are having driving license they will be provided with auto tippers remaining workers will be given Self employment and financial assitance to the through UCD wing, he added.

The persons who are having driving license after their learning period they will also provided with auto tippers in the near future. The workers who are not having the licenses etc., the GHMC is also planning to provide them with lifting of garbage work in other areas. The Commissioner said that 100% collection of garbage waste from door to door is not a easy task and the GHMC is striving hard to collect 100% through various means duly involving the various Welfare organisations to reach the target.

Additional Commissioners, Sri Surendra Mohan, IAS, Sri Jayaraj Kennedy, Sri N. Ravi Kiran, Zonal Commissioners, Sri Gourav Uppal, Ms. Harichandana Dasari, Sri Raghu Prasad, Sri Srinivas Reddy, Sri Gangadhar Reddy have participated in the meeting.
