Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has alleged that the Congress party was creating obstacles in the construction of irrigation projects and halting development of Telangana State.
He was speaking after releasing water from Tapaspalli Reservoir in Komurupalli mandal of Siddipet district on Wednesday. He said the reservoir would provide irrigation water to 20 mandals and drinking water to seven villages.
Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that the Telangana Government had entered into a historic agreement with Maharashtra for better utilisation of Godavari River water.
He said that the previous Congress regimes completely neglected the irrigation sector and while in opposition, it is making continued efforts to stall works being executed by TRS Government. (INN)
