Hyderabad: Minister for Irrigation and Marketing T Harish Rao on Wednesday met Union Agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh in New Delhi and sought funds to the state for various projects under agriculture sector.
Minister Harish Rao is said to have discussed issues like cold storage, warehousing facilities, e-marketing among others.
Earlier Minister Harish Rao along with top officials of irrigation department attended the Prime Minister Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) meeting in New Delhi under the aegis of Union Water Resource Ministry.
Harish Rao is the member of the PMKSY committee. The PMKSY committee reviews the progress of 99 irrigation projects across the country including 11 TS projects under the PMKSY scheme.
Sources said that Harish Rao said that the PMKSY loans to be taken by the state through NABARD should be out of the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) Act purview so that the states could raise the required loans for early completion of irrigation projects. (INN)
