Hyderabad: Mayor Bonthu Rammohan tested positive for Covid-19 following a rapid antigen test on Saturday. He is asymptomatic and is currently in isolation.
The Mayor, along with his family members, underwent the Covid-19 test yesterday, and although his family members tested negative, Rammohan’s report was positive.
Rammohan is well and there are no problems and has gone into self-isolation as a precautionary measure, sources said. Upon completion of the self-isolation phase, the Mayor will be re-tested and will donate plasma for the extension of care to coronary patients, they said.
The Mayor also appealed to all those who had already obtained treatment to donate their plasma to Covid-19. To this end, a special camp will be held, sources said. This is the third time that the Mayor has undergone a corona test and found negative for the previous two tests.
While being self-isolated, the Mayor is monitoring the progress of the various works carried out by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) through video conferences.
Since rains have been lashing the city, he directed the officials to intensify anti-larval and fogging operations to prevent mosquito menace and take up measures to contain the spread of seasonal diseases. (INN)
