Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society (IKFS), a non-profit and non-caste socio-cultural NRI association in Kuwait, sent congratulatory messages to its patrons Dr. M.K. Munir, (Minister of Kerala) and K.M. Shaji, MLA for winning in the latest Kerala Legislative Assembly election.
Dr. Munir, who contested from Kozhikode Constituency and won, is the lone son of former IUML leader C. H. Mohammed Koya. He is a medical doctor, and showed his immense interest toward art and music.
He has composes ad penned number of Gazhal songs, M. K. Muneer is a good singer too. He won C. Achutha Menon Award for Literature in 1998.
He published a book on Sangaparivar, “Fascisavum Sangha Parivarum”. In the Inter Medicos Competition, he was selected as Best Singer, Best Painter, Best Actor and Best Cartoonist.
K M Shaji, who represented IUML, won as MLA from Kannur. Shaji also won several awards for his contributions and works in Social, Environmental and Relief fields. Some of awards he won are: ‘Karunya Award’ for standing with differently abled people from Association for Disabled People, ‘Abudhabi Cultural Association Award’ for environmental activities and ‘Veera Pazhassi Raja Samithi Award’ for secular forum.
IKFS President Dr. Ghalib Al Mashoor, Vice President Advocate Sayid Nizar, and General Secretary A.K.S. Abdul Nazar complimented both Dr. M.K. Munir and K.M. Shaji in a joint message.
The IKFS team appreciated both leaders for their valuable contributions towards the upliftment of minorities and extending them humanitarian services.
IKFS said, “People have voted you to win the election in 2011 and 2016, in recognition of your outstanding community services to the nation and we are proud as our patrons.”
Justice Rajindar Sachar is the Chief Patron of IKFS, in addition to Padmashri Dr. Kiran Bedi, IPS , Padmashri Alok Mehta (Former president of Indian Press council) Father Davis Chirammal and Sayid Nasir Al-Mashoor Thangal.
