Immigrants are vital for country’s development: Ben Judah

Immigrants play a vital role in development of any country. Migration of people from one country to other or from smaller towns to cities within a country has its positive impact, said British journalist Ben Judah.

Discussing his latest book ‘This is London: Life and Death in the World City’ at an event organized by Hyd Park at Lamakaan in Hyderabad yesterday, Ben noted that there’re nearly 40% immigrants in the British capital than white Britons.

Immigrants should not be seen as intruders, consented most of the participants in the event when its host Sriram Karri sought their opinion.

Also screened at the event was a documentary film by Ben Judah, ‘Homeless and hungry’, which shows dark side of London. It was followed by an open interaction with the audience.
