India’s largest textile park to come up in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana will soon be the home for the largest textile park in the country. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will lay the foundation stone for Kakatiya Mega Textile Park on October 22 in Warangal district.

A meeting to review the arrangements for the foundation stone laying ceremony was held by Industries Minister K Tarakarama Rao at his camp office on Friday. Industries & Commerce Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and other officials attended the meeting.

The textile park will come up in 1200 acres in its first phase and in total, 2000 acres at Shayampet in Chintapalli village. Telangana being one of the largest producer of cotton, the textile park will yield productive results not only to the state but also to the country.

In this park, for the production of clothes, plug and play factory sheds will be arranged. An advanced level testing laboratory will also be set up in the park.

To control the pollution levels the textile park will ensure Zero liquid discharge facilities. This being a major textile park in the country, it will help in generating 22,000 direct and 44,000 indirect employment opportunities to the youth of Telangana. In total the textile park will create 66,000 jobs in its first phase.

Investors from across the globe are showing interest in investing in the Park. Presently, 12 companies have agreed to invest in the textile park with an investment to the tune of 3000 Crores.

The logo for the textile park draws inspiration from the famed Kakatiya Thoranam – and shows colorful strands arranged in the shape of Kakatiya Thoranam. (INN)
