Hyderabad: Former MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy has strongly opposed appointment of non-local candidates in Ordnance Factor.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Jagga Reddy said that the Ordinance Factory was established by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Medak district to provide jobs to locals. However, he said candidates from north India were being prominence in jobs in the factory.

He said nearly 400 posts were recently filled with non-locals and there was no candidate from Sangareddy among them. Similarly, about 400 candidates, taken on Apprenticeship last year, were from north India.

Jagga Reddy also alleged that nearly 1500 posts in BHEL and BDL were given to candidates from North India. He said that the Congress party would launch an agitation to ensure that jobs in all Central institutions located in Telangana are given to local candidates. (INN)
