Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said that the State Government would provide irrigation facilities to North Telangana districts by completing the Kaleshwaram Project by June next year.
Harish Rao on Saturday visited Warangal Rural, Wardhannapet and other areas to inspect the works pertaining to SRSP Canal. He was accompanied with MLAs E. Dayakar Rao, A. Ramesh, C. Dharma Reddy and Shankar Naik.
Speaking to media persons at Raiparthy, Harish Rao said nearly one lakh cuses of Godavari water was going waste into the sea. He said the same water could be utilised to irrigate barren lands.
Harish Rao said the completion of Kaleshwaram project would primarily benefit the Warangal district. He also assured to take up repair and restoration of SRSP Canal. He also announced Mission Kakatiya works worth Rs. 8 crore and the construction of a check dam at a cost of Rs. 4 crore in Wardhannapet mandal. (INN)
