KCR creating confusion over early polls: Uttam

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has stated that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was creating confusion over holding early Assembly elections.

“KCR and his family are enacting dramas every day on early polls. They are making new announcements every day, thus trying to create confusion. Their tactics will not work.

Congress is ready to face elections even if they are held tomorrow. Victory is ours and we are forming the next government,” said Uttam Kumar Reddy in a tele-conference with party’s Booth Presidents at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the hollow structure of tall promises and fake assurances created by TRS Government based on deception during the last four years has collapsed burying the fabricated image of CM KCR.

Fearing that the TRS leaders would now be questioned by people on the streets of Telangana for their failures, KCR is apparently seeking fresh elections. However, he said that people would not forgive KCR regime for its lies and cheating.

The TPCC Chief also explained in detail the assurances being given by the Congress party to various sections of the society. If voted to power in next elections, the Congress party would waive off crop loans up to Rs. 2 lakh in a single take.

It will also provide Minimum Guaranteed Price for about 17 major crops besides introducing a crop insurance policy whose premium would be paid by the State Government.

He said that the next Congress Government would create lakhs of jobs in public and private sectors and at least 10 lakh jobless youth would be given Unemployment Allowance of Rs. 3,000 per month.

Uttam Kumar Reddy ridiculed CM KCR’s objection to the promises being made by the Congress party. “KCR is asking how we plan to implement those promises? We will implement them the same way we implemented Free Power for Farmers; waived off crop loans across the country and provided Fee Reimbursement to students.

We have a long history of successful implementation of promises which we had made with the people,” he said while adding that no one should have any doubt on fulfilment of promises being made by us.

The TPCC Chief said the last four years of TRS rule was full of disappointment and failures. He said KCR did not fulfil a single major promise, but now he is expressing doubts over implementation of promises being made by the Congress party.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party, when voted to power, would double the pension amount for all categories of beneficiaries and the age limit for Old Age Pensions would be reduced to 58 years.

He said both husband and wife would be eligible to get Old Age pension and the eligible parents of a government servant would also be entitled for Old Age Pension.

He said the main purpose of expanding the network of beneficiaries was to extend the benefits of Telangana State to all deserving sections, especially the poor and weaker sections. “KCR Govt has spent Telangana’s budget on contractors. But Congress Government will use that money for people’s welfare,” he said.

The TPCC Chief said that there were clear indications that Assembly might be dissolved next month and early polls might be held by December end or January first week. Therefore, he said all Congress workers should be ready to face elections and make preparations to win them.

He asked them to stay in touch with the people and expose the failures of TRS Government like non-implementation of 12% reservation for Muslims and STs, 3 acres of land for Dalits, one job for each household, double bed room houses for poor, KG to PG free education, etc.,

Uttam Kumar Reddy said not a single section of the society was happy with the performance of TRS Govt. Farmers remained neglected for four years and just before elections, KCR tried to trick them by paying Rs. 4,000 per acre investment subsidy.

He said no farmer got the compensation for the damages they suffered due to natural calamities. He said farmers did not get remunerative prices under TRS and BJP rule.

The TPCC Chief asked Congress workers to take up special awareness campaign among women to explain how they were neglected by the TRS Government. He said KCR insulted all women by not inducting a single woman minister in his cabinet.

Nearly 70 lakh women associated with SHGs were suppressed and Abhay Hashtham pension was discontinued. He promised that the next Congress Government would revive Abhay Hastham pension, provide Rs. 1 lakh grant to each of nearly 6 lakh women SHGs and arrange Rs. 10 lakh bank loan whose interest will be paid by the State Government.

He said that the Congress Government would ensure both economic and political empowerment of women.

Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that all Congress party workers would be given due recognition. He said Congress president Rahul Gandhi would hold a meeting with all booth presidents of Telangana during his next visit in the month of September.

Stating that the candidates would be selected only after taking their views, he asked the booth presidents to work like soldiers to win the next elections.

Of nearly 31,500 polling booth presidents, Uttam Kumar Reddy had a tele-conference with nearly 20,000 on Friday. Another tele-conference with remaining booth presidents will be held in a day or two.

Meanwhile, the TPCC Chief informed that tele-conference with nearly 20,000 people was first of kind in the world. He said Congress party was trying to make maximum use of technology.

“Our target is to speak to one lakh people at a time and this would be achieved during elections,” he said while informing that he would be hold tele-conference with booth presidents at least once in a week.
