Hyderabad: Telangana BJP floor leader in Assembly G. Kishan Reddy has welcomed the Union Budget for 2017-18 and said that allocations for many departments were increased manifold by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises on Thursday, Kishan Reddy as against the average allocation of Rs. 600 crore per annum for railways, this year the Finance Minister increased the allocation to Rs. 1,729 crore.
Further, he said huge funds have been allocated for development of Kachiguda and Secunderabad Railway Stations. Similarly, he said substantial amounts have been earmarked for development of other sections in Telangana.
The BJP leader dismissed the allegations of Telangana getting ignored in Union Budget. He said more clarity on proposed spending would emerge after department-wise budget details are disclosed.
He said that the BJP-led NDA Government was giving adequate funds to Telangana State. (INN)
