Hyderabad: Government Whip Palle Rajeshwar Reddy on Wednesday alleged that Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC) Chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram was aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party to stop 12% reservation for Muslims proposed to be given by TRS Government.
Speaking to media persons at TRS Legislature Party office here, Rajeshwar Reddy alleged that Kodandaram met BJP leaders to foil TRS Government’s attempt to give 12% Muslim quota in the State.
However, he said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has devised a new strategy to get 12% Muslim quota and it could not be foiled.
Rajeshwar Reddy also ridiculed the preparatory plans of Congress and BJP for 2019 General Elections. He advised both the parties to plan for 2024 elections and claimed that TRS would retain power in 2019 elections. He also dismissed the allegations of corruption against the TRS Government and said that KCR has ensured a transparent and corruption-free administration.
The TRS leaders defended State Government’s decision to shift Dhana Chowk from Indira Park to city’s outskirts and said it was done in view of inconvenience being caused to general public. He said that the TRS Government was not suppressing people’s freedom of expression and said a protest could be held at any designated place. (INN)
