Koppula holds review meeting on Ramzan arrangements

Hyderabad: Minister for Welfare Koppula Eashwar informed that as part of the holy Ramzan festival celebrations, which is likely to commence from May 6, the State Government has decided to distribute gift packets (containing clothes) to poor Muslim families and also arrange Iftar (Dinner) at 832 Masjids in Telangana State.

As many as 448 Masjids In Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits and 367 masjids in remaining 32 districts have been identified so far where Gift packets and Iftar dinner will be arranged.

For arranging the Iftar party and dinner, the State Government will reimburse Rs. one Lakh to each Masjid Committee and instructions has issued to all the District Collectors asking them to look after the arrangement in their respective areas.

The Minister has held the meeting with the concerned officials of Minorities Welfare department at the Secretariat today. The meeting was attended by Advisor to Minorities Welfare A.K. Khan, GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore, Director Minorities Welfare Shah Nawaz, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar and others.

During the meeting, the officials informed that repairs and renovation of Mecca Masjid and Royal Mosque will be completed soon.
