Hyderabad: IT Minister KT Rama Rao has provided Rs 1.50,000 in financial assistance to Mekala Anjali who is pursuing the second year of IIT in Indore.
Mekala Anjali comes from Hasanparthi district of Warangal and is an auto-driver ‘s aunt. She completed the intermediate with 972 marks in MPC in TSRJC gurukulam Hasanparthy and secured a seat at IIT Indore.
She appealed to the minister, however, that her family could not bear the expenses, and asked for help. Minister KT Rama Rao had promised to bear the expenses related to other education in recognition of her performance.
Last year, KTR extended its financial assistance to Anjali as she joined IIT Indore. The minister, as assured, handed over 1,50,000 Rs to Anjali for the second year college fees, laptop and other expenses here at Pragathi Bhavan. Father Ramesh, of Anjali, thanked the minister for providing financial support.
Anjali said her dream is to serve the country and become a civil servant. (INN)
