Hyderabad: Under the ‘Gift A Smile’ scheme, Minister of Information Technology and Industries KT Rama Rao on Thursday flagged off Corona Checking Mobile Units and Ambulances here at Pragathi Bhavan.
The Minister waved the green flag for the mobile units donated to Marri Rajasekhar Reddy by the TRS Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency in charge.
Rajasekhar Reddy was thanked by the Minister for his kind gesture, considering the welfare of the people. Rajasekhar Reddy reacted by saying he was pleased to be part of the programme. Also present were members of the Secunderabad Cantonment Council, Jakkula Maheswar Reddy, Keshav Reddy, Anitha Prabhakar, Pandu Yadav, Nalini Kiran, Bhagyasri Syam, Lokanath and senior party leaders.
Six ambulances donated by party leaders from the same location were also flagged off by the Minister. He launched 3 ambulances donated by Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy, 2 ambulances donated by Government Whip Balka Suman and 1 ambulance donated by Diwakar Rao, Mancherial MLA.
The Minister congratulated them for coming forward and donating the ambulances which will be a part of the Covid containment efforts.
Indrakaran Reddy said that on the occasion of his birthday, they gave the ambulances on the advice of the minister to do anything to add a smile to the face of the common man. He said the ambulances he had donated will be run by the Nirmal and Mancherial Collectorates.
The ambulances have all modern medical equipment including a ventilator and oxygen supply. He said that the ambulances will be of great help for Covid-19 infected patients. (INN)
