Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao laid the foundation stone on Wednesday for a railway under bridge and Fatehnagar flyover widening works.
Speaking on this occasion, the minister said that to reduce traffic congestion, 137 connecting roads are being laid. “The new Under-Bridge railway would considerably relieve the traffic burden on the Fatehnagar Flyover. This would also reduce the distance of travel by 6.5 km. The development of this project will finish within one year, “he said.
KTR also claimed that by September the flyover being constructed at Balanagar will be complete. As part of the road widening works, he told the officials to go for accelerated plantation.
Referring to the poor’s double bedroom dwellings, the minister said one lakh double bedroom homes would be handed over to the city’s beneficiaries quite early.
Minister of Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav said a water reservoir, an indoor stadium and Mahaprasthanam had already been approved by the KTR minister in the past and he has now given the city the rail under bridge.
Praising the Minister of Urban Development, Srinivas Yadav said that in his 30 years of political career he has not seen such a dynamic leader while crediting him with multiple development activities that were undertaken in the region.
KTR also laid a foundation stone for the construction of the ‘C.Na.Re Saraswatha Sadanam Auditorium in Banjara Hills to commemorate the 89th anniversary of the birth of Dr C Narayana Reddy, recipient of the Padma Bhushan and Jnanapeeth Award, and paid glowing tributes to him. (INN)
