Hyderabad: IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao on Thursday visited New Delhi to meet several Union Ministers seeking funds for early completion of pending projects of Telangana State.
The minister met Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and briefed her about the problems being faced by workers from Telangana in Gulf countries.
He also asked the Union Minister to take measures to set up Consulate of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Hyderabad. He also presented a Pochampalli saree as a gift from Telangana State.
KTR also met Union Minister for Urban Development Hardeep Puri and invited him for inauguration of Hyderabad Metro Rail project. During his meeting with Union Minister Narender Singh, he appealed him to clear setting up of a steel plant in Bayyaram of Khammam district.
In response, the Union Minister told KTR that a decision on steel plant would be taken after receipt of report from the Task Force Committee within a month. (INN)
