Hyderabad: Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K. Tarakarama Rao on Tuesday said that about 75% of Hyderabad Metro Rail works were completed added that the first phase of metro rail will soon be rolled out.
Speaking in the Assembly on the issue of development of Hyderabad, the minister said that the State Government was making all efforts to complete the Metro Rail project at the earliest.
The minister said that the State Government has set up building tribunal to curb illegal encroachments. He said that the as many as 938 illegal structures were razed down in the GHMC limits.
KTR said that the state government was initiating steps to ensure there was no water scarcity this summer. He said that efforts are on to make HMWSSB a self sufficient body by taking measures to increase its revenue.
The minister said that Rs 115.46 crore were spent to on road repairs, drainages and other works on the IT corridor.
He said that the government was committed to provide double bed room houses to poor and said that the tenders have already been called for the scheme to construct double bedroom houses in the GHMC limits. About one lakh beneficiaries will get two room houses in the capital city, the minister said. (INN)
