Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari headed committee decided to provide mid-day meals with nutritional value for students of Degree College, Inter College and Vocational Colleges run by the Telangana government.
The committee, which included ministers Etala Rajendra, Harish Rao, Indrakshan Reddy and Joguramannalu, met for the second time at secretariat today.
The committee recommended Akshaya Patara Foundation representatives to provide all necessary infrastructure facilities for mid-day meals at all government inter, degree, polytechnic, ITI, BED, DDD and model junior colleges in 31 districts of TS.
Following the meeting, all ministers tasted meals in the Secretariat. The mid-day meals provided by Akshaya Patara Foundation students were made by ministers and officials.
Ravi Lachan Das, Akshaya Patara public relation incharge, said that the Annapurna scheme had been implemented for last four years through Akshaya Patara and without any complaints.
The Akshaya Patara Foundation was askedt to present menu and prices report on meals supplemented by midday meal scheme on August 6. Following which a decision would be taken by CM KCR and pulic announcment would be made.
