Minister KTR interacted with the residents and assured them that all the relief measures are being taken up on a war footing to bring back normalcy in the area.
Minister KTR visited the shelter home set up at BS Maqta and interacted with the rain-affected residents.
Later, the Minister inspected the inundated areas in Prakash Nagar and Brahmanwadi in Begumpet and took stock of the situation. He instructed GHMC officials to provide necessary relief to the citizens.
Minister also distributed ration kits to the residents. The government has already started distributing blankets and other relief material to the citizens at GHMC shelter homes.
As the rains have subsided, the GHMC is now focusing on sanitation works, said Minister KTR.
The Minister appealed to the citizens to ensure that they drink safe and boiled water for the coming days to prevent diseases.
Minister KTR stated that all the medical facilities and emergency services are being provided for the citizens.
To aid the Government’s efforts to relief & restoration works following heavy rains in the city, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, GHMC corporators, and co-option members have decided to donate their one month salary to the CM Relief Fund. And the Cantonment Board members have announced that their four months’ salary would be donated to the CM Relief Fund. The letters to this effect were handed over to Minister KTR today.
Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan, MLAs Danam Nagender, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Mynampally Hanmanth Rao accompanied Minister KTR in their respective areas. (INN)
