Hyderabad: An aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in Warangal was conducted by Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, KT Rama Rao and Health Minister Etala Rajendra.
Minister also inspected the stormwater drain of Nayeem Nagar which is one of the town’s main nallas. He has visited the worst affected Warangal colony, Sammaiah Nagar.
In the afternoon, a review meeting was called to discuss the flood situation and the encroachment of Warangal lakes and water bodies.
Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao has already pointed a high warning to the official machinery. Relief steps in flood-hit areas have been stepped up.
The Chief Minister is regularly taking the stock of the situation on a daily basis. In some areas in the state heavy rains have caused inconvenience to residents.
Three DRF teams were pressed into service earlier to increase rescue and relief efforts at Warangal. Up to now DRF has rescued over 36 people in Warangal. (INN)
