Hyderabad: The Telangana State Minorities Commission visited Osmania University to ascertain the issues in concerns of minorities in the University.
Commission Chairman Mohammed Qamaruddin and his team met the Vice Chancellor Prof. S. Ramchandram, Registrar Prof. Gopal Reddy, and other senior officials of the University, staff, students and research scholars belonging to minority community.
There was unanimity among staff, students and research scholars of Urdu, Arabic and Persian departments that the commission should take up the issue of recruitment to state Government on a priority basis as they were already short staff as senior staff is likely to retire.
Prof. Mehajabben Akhtar, Director, Minority Cell, Osmania University outlined various activities taken up by the cell and sought the cooperation of the Commission in their activities. (INN)
