Note-ban won’t bridge rich-poor gap: Etala

Hyderabad: Finance Minister Eatala Rajender on Saturday said that the demonetization would not lessen the have and have-nots gap in the country.

Speaking at aprogramme organised to mark the National Consumer Rights Day at Secretariat, Etala Rajender said that despite all the citizens in the country enjoy equal political rights, there is huge gap between the rich and the poor with regards to distribution of wealth.

While some people have amassed huge wealth, while some are not capable of meeting two square of meals, the minister said.

The minister said that government was providing rice through public distribution system to the poor so that the poor can make their ends meet.
