The decision of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to abruptly end political alliance with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir has been criticized by political rivals.
Reacting to the development, The Socialist Party (India) said that the BJP’s decision to withdraw support to the Mehbooba Mufti government was an example of opportunistic and irresponsible character of the BJP/RSS.
“This opportunistic and irresponsible decision of the BJP can further worsen the situation in Jammu and Kashmir,” said Dr. Abhijit Vaidya, national spokesperson of the Socialist Party.
The party noted that the BJP decided to take advantage from the decision in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
“This decision proves that the nationalism of BJP/RSS is a hollow slogan. The BJP/RSS uses the name of the nation to grab power and then consume power without accountability,” Dr Vaidya remarked.
Further, he added that this decision of BJP jeopardized the national interest and national security.
