Speaking to media persons here, Kadiyam said that 28 committees have been formed to look into various aspects of centenary celebrations of OU scheduled to be organised from April 26, 2017.
He said that the state government would invite either President or the Prime Minister for the celebrations.
The Deputy CM chaired a review meeting which was attended by MP Keshav Rao, varsity vice-chancellor Prof Ramachandram and others.
Kadiyam said the State Government has planned a three-day mega celebration from April 26. He said that special programme will be organised to showcase the culture and heritage of Telangana during the fete.
He said that a website will be launched for the event.
He appealed the varsity alumni to take part in the celebrations. He said the state government would establish Centre for Telangana Studies to promote the state’s culture and heritage.
Sources said that the varsity officials had recently sent the state government proposal for sanctioning funds for centenary fete which would be soon released by the government. (INN)
