People’s Front’ will win next elections, says Uttam

Huzurnagar: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress-led People’s Front will win the next Assembly elections being held on December 7.

“Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI have formed a People’s Front to end the dictatorial and corrupt regime of KCR family. People’s Front will fulfil the aspirations of people of Telangana by implementing a common agenda,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said while addressing a crowded press conference after filing his nomination papers as Congress candidate from Huzurnagar constituency on Saturday.

Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that all four parties would form the next government together. “All four parties will be a part of next government with cabinet having representation from Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI.

Instead of fulfilling the aspirations of 4 crore people of Telangana, during the last four years, TRS Government worked only for the welfare of 4 members of KCR family.

Congress party granted statehood for Telangana to meet the expectations of all sections of the society. But KCR chased personal dreams and ambitions by setting aside people’s interest,” he said.

The TPCC Chief accused caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao of completely ruining the Telangana State with his wrong policies and irregularities.

He said even natural sources were looted under TRS regime. A revenue surplus State has been turned into a debt ridden with each family having a debt-burden of over Rs. 2.60 lakh.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the next government of People’s Front would ensure an accountable and transparent rule. “The Common Agenda will be implemented religiously. This will be monitored by a committee which will be headed by TJS President Prof. M. Kodandaram. The committee will have official status with its chairman having the cabinet rank,” he informed.

The TPCC Chief alleged that KCR has cheated all sections of the society. “Dalits and Girjans did not get promised three acres of land; Double bed room houses remained a distant dream for poor and Muslims and STs did not get promised 12% reservations.

Other promises like KG to PG free education, one job for every household, PRC for employees and Fee Reimbursement for students remained unfulfilled. During the last four-and-a-half years KCR remained focussed on making his lifestyle more lavish.

He never stepped out of Pragathi Bhavan to meet common people,” he said while adding that KCR’s name should enter the Guinness Records as the Chief Minister who never visited Secretariat. He said people would never re-elect a Chief Minister who was never accessible to them to listen to their grievances.

He said KCR and TRS had no moral right to seek votes from any section.

He appealed the people to support the candidates of People’s Front to teach TRS a fitting lesson. He said soon after declaration of results on December 11, the People’s Front would start working for the welfare of people of Telangana.

Uttam Kumar Reddy also accused KCR of humiliating the family members of Telangana martyrs. He slammed KCR for neglecting Telangana martyr Srikanth Chary’s mother Shankaramma.

He said KCR has insulted Shankaramma by not giving her ticket to contest from Huzurnagar seat. It may be mentioned that Shankaramma had contested and lost against Uttam Kumar Reddy in 2014 elections. However, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the TRS Government could have accommodated Shankaramma as MLC or in any corporation.

While Srinkanth Chary had laid down his life for Telangana cause, his mother Shankaramma had worked hard for TRS during the last four years. KCR had no value for their sacrifices and struggle, he said adding that the Congress party would provide Shankaramma respect, recognition and position.

The TPCC Chief said that the TRS Government had spent thousands of crores but failed to provide tapped drinking water to all households. Similarly, not a single unit of power has been generated from the projects started under TRS regime.

Responding to a query on KTR’s challenge of taking political sanyas if TRS fails to win next elections, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the People’s Front was all set to win next elections.

Soon after the declaration of results on December 11, KCR will return to his guest house and KTR will go back to USA, he said. Replying to another query on TRS allegation that Congress created obstacles in construction of irrigation projects, he said that the TRS leaders were resorting to falsehood.

“What or who stopped TRS Government from constructing double bed room houses for poor, provide jobs in every household, enhance reservation for Muslims and Girijans or distributing 3 acres of land among Dalits?” he asked.

Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with his wife and Kodad ex-MLA performed special pooja at Sri Anjaneyulu Swamy Temple in Huzurnagar.

He went in a massive rally to the MRO office to file his papers. Thousands of people had assembled on the entire road stretch from Huzurnagar crossroads to MRO office and other connecting roads. They waited outside when Uttam was filing the nomination papers. After speaking to media persons, Uttam addressed the crowd in an emotional tone.

Thanking people for electing him twice from Huzurnagar in 2009 and 2014, he appealed them to give him another opportunity this time. “I may or may not come for the campaign in Huzurnagar again as I need to travel across the Telangana State to campaign for People’s Front.

Each one of you should feel and act like “I’m Uttam” and ensure a historic victory for the Congress party,” he said amidst loud cheers of thousands of fans and party workers. (INN)
