Poll-related cash seizures cross Rs. 45 Cr

Hyderabad: The election authorities have so far seized Rs. 45.17 crore across the Telangana State as part of special drive for implementation of Model Code of Conduct.

The authorities have also seized 2.93 lakh litres of liquor worth Rs. 4.08 crore and Drugs and Narcotics worth Rs. 2.75 crore. The overall seizures, including freebies of over Rs. 33 lakh, are worth Rs. 52.61 crore.

According to the Telangana CEO office, 96% of Epic Card and 95% of Photo Voter Slip have been distributed. Nearly 80% employees, who applied, have been provided with Election Duty Certificates.

A totall of 1,939 Cases of suspected paid news have been found. The election authorities have identified 460 suspected MCC Violations till Sunday and also identified 579 suspected indirect and sponsored advertisements. (INN)
