Hyderabad: Industries Minister K. Tarakarama Rao participated in a video conference with few European diplomats & representatives of European Business Group (EBG).
During the video conference, Minister KTR discussed about the impact of COVID on the industry and investment opportunities that may emerge in the post COVID world. Minister also gave an overview of the progressive industrial environment prevailing in Telangana.
Minister stated that Telangana has established international standards in Ease of Doing Business by introducing and effectively implementing industrial policies such as TS-iPass.
Minister mentioned that the Telangana government in the past five years has given permissions to more than 13 thousand companies to set up their units in the state.
Minister said that the state has created an innovation ecosystem by setting up T-Hub, WE-Hub, and T-Works. He also stated that the government has set up Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge for enhancing skill set of youngsters and develop synergy among institutions of Government, Industry & Academia.
Minister stated that there will be great opportunities to attract major investments in the post COVID world. Minister opined that the global companies should rethink about setting up major industries and investments in a single country or location.
Minister said that he will be interacting with the heads of industries from various countries soon. Minister appealed to the diplomats to support the Telangana government in attracting investments from their respective countries.
Minister asked the EBG representatives to look into investment opportunities from top companies in the pharma and life sciences, IT, defense and aerospace, and textile sectors. He assured that the state government will provide all possible assistance to the investors. (INN)
