Professor from JNTU picked up for INAE Award

Hyderabad: Prof. K. Anantha Padmanabhan, former University Chair Professor and former Jawaharlal Nehru Chair Professor at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award in Engineering 2020 by the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE).

The award honours the lifetime contribution made by eminent persons to any field of engineering within the expertise of the Academy of engineering.

Ten technologies developed by Prof. Padmanabhan and his students are used in the Indian industry. It holds one European, one US and six Indian patents and has applied for three additional patents.

Tata Motors, Steel Authority of India Limited, Tata Steel, Indian Stainless Steel Manufacturing Association, Department of Atomic Energy, Indian Space Research Organization, Defense Research & Development Organization, Tata Consulting Services and Aditya Birla S&T Company have been a consultant, according to a press release.
