Raj Bhavan is like a family: Governor Narasimhan

Hyderabad: Felicitating Harpreet Singh, the outgoing Principal Secretary to Governor, in a solemn function organised at the Raj Bhavan on Friday, E.S.L. Narasimhan, Governor of AP and Telangana, said Harpreet Singh was like a happy mascot for the Raj Bhavan all through his tenure of the past three years.

Harpreet Singh, transferred as Additional Director General at Dr.MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, was like a shock absorber for him, who took all the pressures of the day to day activities at Raj Bhavan and remained cool and unperturbed, said the Governor.

The Governor said apart from the administrative activities at Raj Bhavan, Harpreet Singh turned out excellent work as Vice Chairman of Indian Red Cross Society of both AP and Telangana Chapters.

Narasimhan said he never found Harpreet Singh loses his cool at any point of time and he always displayed enormous amount of patience and knowledge and was an asset for the Raj Bhavan.

The Governor said Harpreet Singh had been an important member of the Raj Bhavan family, which is an integral part of functioning of the Raj Bhavan and welcomed K. Surendra Mohan, the newly appointed Secretary to Governor, into the Raj Bhavan family.

The Governor and Lady Governor Vimala Narasimhan felicitated Harpreet Singh and his wife Amritha by presentation of shawls and mementos.

Earlier, responding to the felicitations, Harpreet Singh recalled his experiences during his tenure at the Raj Bhavan, through a pictorial presentation, going down the memory lane, like various official and non-official programmes organised at Raj Bhavan.

He said working at the Raj Bhavan was always like being part of a big family and recalled the personal touch he and his family members got from the Governor and the Lady Governor, all through.

Advisers to Governor A.K. Mohanty, APVN Sarma, Secretary K. Surendramohan, Joint Secretary Arjuna Rao, officers and staff members of Raj Bhavan, have attended the programme. (INN)
