International peace ambassador Mohammed Najeeb interacted with several diplomats in Delhi to appraise worsening situation of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
The Hyderabad-based diplomat met ambassadors from African countries, including Ambassador of Republic of Somalia Ebyan M Salah.
In a courtesy call, Somalian Embassy in Delhi invited him to meet Dean of Arab League Ambassadors and Dean of African Union Ambassadors in India, informed Amb. Najeeb.
“In our meeting, we also discussed the situation of innocent Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. I requested fellow ambassadors to push for peace in the region with their Burmese counterpart,” he told.
Further, he said that his attempt to schedule a meeting with Ambassador of Myanmar could not be materialized due to security reasons.
In recent weeks, hundreds of innocent Muslims have been killed allegedly by Burmese armed forces and thousands have reportedly fled Myanmar due to increased violence.
