Hyderabad: Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao on Thursday said that the state government was initiating various measures to meet the drinking water needs of Hyderabad.
Speaking on the issue in Legislative Council, KTR said that the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) was tasked the responsibility of supplying drinking water to areas in Hyderabad and its outskirts.
The minister said that government has allocated Rs 1,900 crore for supplying drinking water to household on the city outskirts.
He said that the government allocated Rs 1136 crore for water supply through GO 262 to 190 villages having acute drinking water scarcity. (INN)
