Save Water Pledge at MANUU

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell organized a special programme on World Water Day at the HKS Centre for Deccan Studies premises. Students, volunteers & staff took the pledge to save water.

Prof. Mohammad Fariyad, NSS Coordinator while addressing students said world water day is celebrated every year on 22 nd March. It was started in the year 1993 to build public awareness and involvement in protecting water resources around the world.

He said a billion population is still living without safe water. As many as one billion people in India live in areas with physical water scarcity. Our country is currently ranked 120 among 122 countries in the water quality index, he informed.

NSS volunteers exhibited poster presentation based on theme ‘Save Water’. NSS officer Mr. B. Bikshapati, Dr. Mohd. Afsar Ali Raieni also spoke on the occasion.
