Hyderabad: ‘Scientific temper is the key to progress and march forward’, Mr. Nimish Kapoor, Head Science
Films Division, Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, expressed the view while addressing the valedictory of the workshop yesterday.
He urged the students with an interest in science and film making to venture in this field. He also asked them to participate in the upcoming National science film festival.
Instructional Media Centre, Maulana Azad National Urdu University in Collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi organized 3 day workshop on “National Science Film making”.
More than 50 students of mass communication and film/media professionals from Hyderabad took part. Nuances about producing films, documentaries, and different programmes on science and technology were discussed.
Dr. M. A Sikandar, Registrar, addressing the valedictory appreciated the idea of conducting the workshop on science film-making. He thanked the film-makers and resource persons for giving their valuable inputs. Eminent personalities from film making field enriched the learning experience of participants during the workshop.
They include Mr. Kuldeep Sinha, former DG, Film Division; Dr. C.M Nautiyal (Scientist), Consultant Science Communications programme; Mr. Arun Chadha, Film maker; Mr. Makarand Brahme, Mr. G Sriguha, Mr. Ramesh Tekwani, and Senior Producer Mr. Santosh Pandey were presents as resource person.
Eminent Filmmaker Shaji N. Karun inaugurated the workshop.
Mr. Rizwan Ahmad, Director, IMC congratulated the participants and Mr. Imtiyaz Alam, coordinator workshop proposed vote of thanks.
