Hyderabad: Promptness in arresting technical failures and alertness during duty is needed to ensure optimal safety and efficiency on the railways, asserted South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav while addressing a meeting to review Safety,
Punctuality and Performance of the Zone with Principal Heads of Departments at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad on Monday.
Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of six Divisions on South Central Railway viz., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded attended the review meeting through video conference.
Vinod Kumar Yadav advised that top priority shall be accorded to safety in train operations and at the same time punctuality should also be maintained.
He advised all the Divisional Railway Managers to take up measures to arrest technical failures, counseling of Loco Pilots, Permanent Way Inspectors. He instructed to take special care on Signaling aspect and advised them to come with new ideas to improve the Safety, Punctuality and achieve the Performance parameters set for current fiscal.
All measures have to be taken to avoid signal failures and top priority may be given to attend the signal failures immediately. He instructed all the DRMs to give importance to departure timings of originating trains in their jurisdiction.
Priority may be accorded towards maintenance of coaches and to enhance average speed of sections.
