Hyderabad: South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta appealed to rail travelers to avoid unauthorized travelling in the compartments reserved for ladies, physically challenged and other coaches in trains.
The SCR GM stressed on the need to curb unauthorized travelling and ensure that passengers make use of only the earmarked compartments thereby enabling safer trains operations.
The General Manager also called upon all the Divisional Railway Managers to carry out massive drive against unauthorized travelling in all passenger / intercity express trains and penalize the violators.
He was addressing a safety review meeting attended by senior officials of various departments of the Zone on Monday at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad.
The review meeting also involved video conferencing with the Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded Divisions.
Reiterating that safety is accorded top priority on the railways, Ravindra Gupta cautioned all the officers that any small incident has the potential to change into a larger one if neglected.
Hence, any small unsafe incident shall be dealt seriously as per the stipulated norms said the General Manager. Shri Ravindra Gupta, instructed the DRMs to conduct Safety Seminars involving running staff and officers so it can establish a formal line of communication between them and resolve amicable solutions to prevailing issues.
