State Minorities Commission (SMC) and Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) have joined forces to promote job oriented courses offered by the varsity across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
With the cooperation of the commission, MANUU has kick started a campaign yesterday to bringing awareness about various job-oriented courses among students across the two states.
Speaking at a seminar in MANUU’s Library Auditorium in Hyderabad, SMC chairman Abid Rasool Khan said public is unaware of various technical, science, and job-oriented courses offered by MANUU.
Therefore, SMC and MANUU would run a decisive door-door campaign to bring awareness about education in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, he said. The seminar is an initial effort in this regard, he added.
The seminar was addressed by experts in education, career counseling, skilled training and employment. In addition, faculty of junior colleges and high schools participated in the seminar.
Mr. Khan also advised MANUU vice chancellor Dr. Aslam Parvez to form a team of staff members so as to spread awareness about MANUU in every district and village in both the states.
Dr. Parvez said the university will soon start a course in English communication skills so that students from Urdu background studying in the varsity could benefit from it.
