Hyderabad: Ministers K. Tarakarama Rao, Prashanth Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Malla Reddy and Mohammed Mahamood Ali held a review meeting on the status of double bedroom dignity homes program in Hyderabad.
Addressing the high-level meeting, MA&UD Minister KTR said, “The Telangana Government will handover 50 thousand double bedroom dignity houses to the beneficiaries by coming August.”
Minister KTR stated that the government aims at constructing one lakh double bedroom dignity houses for the poor in Hyderabad city. He mentioned that the works are fast in progress and the houses will be ready to occupy by Dussehra.
The working agencies informed the Ministers that despite the lockdown, the construction works are going at a good pace. The agencies mentioned that there are a few problems pertaining to steel, cement, and sand. Minister KTR assured the agencies that their problems will be solved soon. He asked the officials of MA&UD and Housing Departments to call for a special meeting with the working agencies to resolve their problems.
Minister KTR stated that 80 percent of construction works have been completed at various sites in the city, and a few houses have already been handed over to the beneficiaries.
Minister asked the officials to set up the external infrastructure such as power supply and water supply to the completed houses. “The completed houses should be handed over to the GHMC officials,” the Minister said.
Housing Minister Prashanth Reddy stated that a lion’s share of houses under the double bedroom program is being constructed in Hyderabad. He mentioned that there will be complete assistance provided to the GHMC from Health Department officials.
After the meeting, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav addressed the media and stated that instructions have been given to officials to complete the construction of 50 thousand houses by August and hand them over to the beneficiaries in GHMC limits.
Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and Special Chief Secretary (Housing) Chitra Ramachandran, MA&UD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, HMWSSB MD Dana Kishore and GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar were present in the meeting. (INN)
