Speaking to media persons after filing his nomination papers as the Congress candidate from Khairtabad constituency on Monday, Sravan said that the TRS Government had failed to fulfil a single major electoral promise.
He said promises like 12% reservation for Muslims and STs, 3 acres of land for poor Dalit families, double bed room houses for poor, etc., were not fulfilled.
He said it was ridiculous on the part of caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to claim that TRS fulfilled 100% electoral promises. People are not so innocent to take KCR’s lies for truth, he said.
Sravan said that the Congress-led People’s Front was all set to win the next elections.
Earlier, Sravan, along with his family members, performed special pooja at Sri Raja Rajeshwari Temple in Film Nagar and came in a huge bike rally to file his nomination. About 100 TRS workers led by N. Naresh joined the Congress party at Film Nagar.
Sravan also paid tributes to former CLP leader P. Janardhan Reddy by washing his status with milk. He also addressed a women’s public meeting at Chintal Basti.
Speaking on the occasion, he appealed the people to ensure victory of Congress party as thanksgiving to Sonia Gandhi for granting statehood for Telangana. (INN)
