“Chief Minister K. Chandrashehar Rao, along with his colleagues in the Council of Ministers, called on the Governor today and presented the resolution recommending the dissolution of the First Legislative Assembly of Telangana State.
The Governor, while accepting the recommendation of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, has requested K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his Council of Ministers to continue in office as a caretaker Government.
K. Chandrashekhar Rao has agreed to his request,” read the Press Communiqué from Raj Bhavan.
Earlier, the Telangana Cabinet met at Pragathi Bhavan at 1 pm today and passed a resolution seeking dissolution of Assembly.
Later, KCR addressed a press conference explaining the reasons that forced him to seek early elections. He also released the list of 105 out of 119 Assembly candidates.
