Hyderabad: The Telangana Legislative Assembly‘s Monsoon Session is all set to kick-start Monday, September 7. This comes at a time when COVID-19 cases have crossed the 1.4 lakh mark in the state.
All assembly members, including staffers, were tested on Sunday to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Only those who test negative for the virus will be allowed to take part in the assembly session, as per government guidelines.
The House will conduct discussions on issues ranging from GST compensation, Srisailam fire accident and state government measures to contain the virus.
Members are being asked to sit at a minimum of six feet as part of mitigation protocols. The building’s grounds have also been sanitised, including facilities to be used for discussions. Wearing masks has also been made obligatory in the legislature.
In the meantime, members of the opposition Congress party held a meeting on Sunday to discuss the action plan for the next sessions. Mulugu MLA DanasariAnusuya posted visuals of her getting tested for the virus. (INN)
