Hyderabad: The Tourism Department of Telangana State has bagged prestigious 8 National Tourism Awards from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for the year 2015-2016.
Telangana Tourism has been awarded with excellence for the best services and excellence in various sectors of Tourism & Hospitality industry.
GHMC has won the award in the category of Civic Management of a Tourist Destination in India; Warangal – Best Heritage City; Department of Tourism, Theme Book published in Mandarin Language for China International Travel Mart – Best Tourism Promotion Publicity Material; Kasinath Rao, Telangana Tourism Guide – Best Tourist Guide; Chowmahalla Palace, Hyderabad – Best Maintained and Disabled Friendly Monument; Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad – Best Medical Tourism Facility and Leonia International Centre for Exhibition & Conventions, Hyderabad has won the award of Best Standlone Convention Centre.
President of India Ram Nath Kovind presented the National Tourism Awards 2015-16, on the occasion of World Tourism Day, organised by the Ministry of Tourism, in New Delhi on Wednesday. Union Minister of State for Tourism (I/C) Alphons Kannanthanam, Union Secretary for Culture and Tourism Rashmi Verma and other dignitaries were also present.
B. Venkatesham, IAS., Secretary to Government, YAT&C Department, Government of Telangana received the award from the President of India on Swachta Award apart from received various other awards.
GHMC Mayor Bontu Rammohan, GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, Tourism Commissioner Sunitha M. Bhagwat, Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Dr Christina Z.Chongthu, YATDC Vice Chairman G. Kishan Rao, and Director, Chowmahala Palace has attended the awards function and received awards. (INN)
