Telangana CM KCR urges PM Modi to expedite HC bifurcation

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) had a hectic day in the national capital on Monday wherein he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several union ministers.

Accompanied with TRS MPs Jithender Rao, K. Kavitha and others, KCR met the Prime Minister at Parliament’s Central Hall and discussed various issues concerning Telangana.

He briefed Modi about the recent developments, including protest by advocates and judges, over the bifurcation of High Court. He strongly objected to appointment of Andhra judges.

He appealed to the Prime Minister to resolve the issue at the earliest.

KCR also sought Central funds for early completion of pending projects in Telangana. He demanded special funds for Mission Bhagaritha and Mission Kakatiya.

Later, the Chief Minister called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and urged him to expedite the process of bifurcation of employees.

Informing that the State Government was increasing the number of districts, he asked Rajnath Singh to allot All India Services (AIS) officials for new districts.

During his meeting with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, KCR complained of delay in release of Central fund for various schemes. He also apprised Jaitley of steps being taken by the State Government to increase its revenues.

The Chief Minister also met Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharathi and briefed her about the irrigation projects of Telangana State.

He also updated her about the pact between Telangana and Maharashtra Governments over sharing of Godavari River water. He also sought Uma Bharathi’s intervention to find an amicable solution to resolve water sharing dispute between Telangana and AP. (INN)
