Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Friday directed Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma to prepare a comprehensive report on the damages caused due to heavy rains during the last few days.
The Chief Minister said that the report, estimating the extent of damage, should be prepared at the earliest so that the same could be sent to the Central Government seeking assistance.
He issued these instructions after conducted a review meeting with senior officials in New Delhi.
Expressing deep concern over the damages and inconvenience caused to the general public due to heavy rains, the Chief Minister sought financial assistance from the Centre towards relief and rehabilitation.
He said heavy rains have caused immense damages to public and private properties across Telangana State, especially Hyderabad.
KCR said several lakes got breached while crops, spread across thousands of acres, also got damaged. He directed the Chief Secretary to ask all District Collectors to send detailed reports on damages on immediate basis. (INN)
