Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao launched the Telangana Government’s mini hub imaging service center at Sriram Nagar near Borabanda here on Friday, expanding yet another initiative to provide better and free diagnostic services to the public.
The Telangana Diagnostics project is a first of its kind initiative to provide the public with cost-free quality diagnostic and imaging services. Under this initiative, the provision of ECG, Radiology Services as part of the strengthening of diagnostic services in GHMC has identified eight sample pooling points (UCHCs/UPHCs) as Mini Hubs for Diagnostic Services.
Initially, the government launched pathological facilities as a hub and spoken model at IPM in Hyderabad covering the GHMC region in 2018 with 126 spokes and progressively increased catering to almost 319 spokes (Bakshi Dawakhana, PHCs, UPHCs, CHCs, UCHCs, Wellness Centers, Ah, DH and Dispensaries) across the GHMC region, the Minister said.
The MAUD Minister, complimenting Health Minister E. Rajender and the Department of Health and Medicine for extending services to the urban poor, said similar services will be extended in the days to come in all districts and district headquarters.
In the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Medical and Health Department has been providing quality care for the last year. People will never forget their efforts and will be grateful to the health and medical workers, he said. (INN)
