Hyderabad based not-for-profit Telangana Jagruthi has organized flash mob campaign to bring voting awareness among citizens ahead of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election tomorrow.
By organizing the campaign at Inorbit Mall in Hitech City, the organization’s said it intended to increase the polling percentage in the ensuing GHMC polls and to change the low voting percentage of the Hyderabad voters.
Through the flash mob, the IT wing of Telangana Jagruthi has urged all the people to play an active role by participating in GHMC elections leading to higher voter turnout.
“With an aim to promote democratic values, the TJIT campaign leverages Hyderabad voters aware of the value of their invaluable vote and how each vote can strengthen democracy,” the NGO said in a release.
Addressing the media TJIT President Srinivas Dasari said, “Unless the basic civic amenities of people are met, Hyderabad cannot attain the status of a global city and this could be possible only if the people vote in large numbers.”
Kiran Kumar Guda, Dilip Reddy, Gous,Pashupathi, Raju, Hari, Amma Venu, Naresh, Hari, Prashanth and some IT professionals were also present.
