Hyderabad: TRS on Saturday alleged that Andhra Pradesh Government was trying to stall the projects undertaken by the Telangana Government.
Speaking to media persons, TS Planning Board vice-chairman Singireddi Niranjan Reddy advised the TDP leaders from Telangana to convince their party leader and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu not to oppose the projects like Palamuru Ranaga Reddy as they are crucial for the farmers of parched districts like Mahbubnagar and RR district.
He informed that the Centre has called for the meeting of Apex Council where Chief Ministers of two states will meet Union Water Resources minister Uma Bharati on September 21.
The TDP leaders from Telangana should ask Chandrababu Naidu not to oppose the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy and Dindi projects, he said.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao met Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and other officials of irrigation department at his camp office and discussed various issues to be discussed at the Apex Council meet to be held on September 21.
The agenda for the proposed meeting will be about Telangana State going ahead with construction of Palamuru-Ranga Reddy and Dindi projects using Krishna River waters to which the AP government and a few farmers of Krishna Delta are opposed. (INN)
