TRS slams Congress for supporting SCS for AP

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi has strongly criticised Congress party for its support to Special Category State to Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing separate press conferences, Energy Minister Jagadish Reddy, Animal Husbandry Minister Talsani Srinivas Yadav and MLA V. Srinivas Goud have accused the Congress of ‘betraying’ Telangana.

Jagadish Reddy alleged that Congress leaders of Telangana have been working as ‘slaves’ of Andhra leaders since beginning. He said Congress leaders never condemned AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who have been conspiring against Telangana’s interest.

He said by supporting the No Confidence Motion moved by TDP, Congress has proved that it was a pro-Andhra party.

Talasani Srinivas Yadav condemned the decision of Congress Working Committee to support the Special Status for AP. He asked as to why Telangana Congress leaders did not object to the decision. He also alleged that both Congress and BJP were trying to suppress the regional parties like TRS.

Meanwhile, MLA Srinivas Goud said that Special Status for AP would hurt the interest of Telangana. He said statehood for Telangana was achieved due to sacrifices of youth and students.

He said Congress had played no role in the formation of Telangana. He claimed that the Congress party would not win even three seats in next elections. (INN)
