Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has decided to support the BJP-led NDA candidate Ramnath Kovind in the Presidential elections.
Soon after deciding the candidature of Ramnath Kovind to contest as President on behalf of NDA, Prime Minister Narendra Modi telephoned Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and sought his support. The Prime Minister told KCR that “As per your suggestion we have decided upon a Dalit candidate for the Presidential Post” and requested CM’s support for the candidate.
KCR immediately on receiving the call from the Prime Minister consulted the party colleagues. Later he conveyed his party’s support for the Presidential candidate to the Prime Minister. (INN)
