Hyderabad: Telangana Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Schools across the State wore a festive look today as thousands of parents attended the mega parent-teacher meeting ‘Impact’.
The impact meeting is held three times in year to build strong teacher-parent relationship and appraise the parents about the progress of their children in academics and extra-curricular activities.
Speaking on the occasion at social welfare residential Centre of Excellence College, Sheikpet, Dr RS Praveen Kumar urged the parents to make sacrifices to educate their children, particularly girl children. Education is the only hope for poor communities, he asserted.
He urged the parents to take full responsibility for providing right environment in their homes and the parents must put an end to alcoholism, family disputes and early girl child marriages.
Parents must become role models to their children, because children are more likely to emulate their parents’ habits, Dr Kumar said.
